Client Showcase: Momentum Collective Academy

By Ben Markovic

For March, we’re showcasing the Momentum Collective Academy! Momentum Collective’s history dates way back to 1979 and it has grown from strength to strength ever since. Based in northern NSW, the NFP provides community programs, disability services, community housing, mental health services and even social enterprises. They have now released a training program to help build resilience amongst Community sector workers. Read below to find out more from Momentum Collective!

Momentum Collective Academy

Momentum Collective understands that burn out is a reality in the Community Services sector, with staff exposed to other people’s trauma daily.

For this reason, Momentum Collective Academy has developed an accredited training program aimed at building Resilience.

This Program provides a set of skills from three units of competency that support resilience for workers within the community, housing, aged care, mental health, and health sectors. Learning outcomes in the unit of competencies include:

  • Recognising stress and triggers in your role.
  • Identifying strategies to prevent, reduce and manage stress effectively.
  • Undertaking self-evaluation with supervisors/peers.
  • Creating a self-development plan that sets realistic goals and targets.
  • Applying self-care strategies in managing re-traumatisation and vicarious trauma.
  • Identifying opportunities to embed trauma-informed care and practice in the delivery, and much more.

Your team will enjoy a mix of eLearning and face-to-face workshops in your area (Tweed Heads, Gold Coast, Alstonville, Casino) with specialist trainers who understand the realities of working in case management. Other locations available depending on numbers.
